'Jesus' Image in Doggie Door Saves Pets

A couple in Yucaipa, Calif., who planned to get rid of their destructive pets suddenly changed their minds when an apparent image of Jesus appeared in their home's doggie door, according to a Local 6 News report.

Dog owner Roger Bowman and his family were fed up with their two dogs, Max and Hercules, for tearing their home apart.

They had decided to get rid of the dogs when Bowman noticed the image, the report said.

"It was a definite double-take," Bowman said. "I was actually walking down the hallway and I happened to look over because I heard them go through the dog door and I was wondering if they were coming in or out. I look over and it was if he was staring right back at me."

The family said they decided to keep the dogs after seeing the image.

"It is a symbol of Jesus on the dog door so that must be a sign that we get to keep the dogs," owner Debbie Vasquez said.

"The coincidence of the natural wear pattern on the dog door to create just the perfect symmetry of this image," Bowman said. "I mean what are the chances of that. I just can't help but take it as a divine reprieve for the dogs. I can't go against that image."
