A nine-candidate political debate in Loxahatchee Groves, Fla., is believed to be the first in state history to be held as a clothing-optional forum, according to a Local 6 News report.

The debate was recently held at the gated community of Sunsport Gardens -- which is also a nudist colony.

Nine of the 10 Town Council candidates attended the meeting to sway voters for next month's election.

About 100 spectators, including many naked or topless people, attended the event.

One candidate decided to boycott the forum, saying she couldn't concentrate with all the naked people in crowd, Local 6's Erik von Ancken said.

"Those who showed up nude said she definitely lost their vote," von Ancken said.

The candidates discussed traffic and keeping future development in check during the meeting.
