Restaurant Serves Only Pig's Feet Dishes
Customers Promised Younger Appearance After Eating Special Dishes
The Hakata Ton Ton restaurant promises the pig's feet will make customers who eat it look younger.Chef Himi Okajima puts the pig's feet in spaghetti, dumplings, dips and all food on the menu.Co-owner of the business, David Sindell, said pig's feet are loaded with collagen -- the same protein that doctors inject in aging skin to plump it up and make it look younger.Sindell said eating a half-pound of collagen a day, which is about 1 pig's foot, can take years of your age, the report said.Nutritionist Carly Feigan said the pig's feet could help with skin issues."It actually cleanses the pores and makes the skin look supple," Feigan said.Dermatologist Debra Jaliman said the age-defying power of pig's feet is not real."The collagen that you eat goes through your system, but it doesn't go directly to your face to deal with those wrinkles," Jaliman said. "That isn't the way the body works."Some customers who said they have tried the pig's feet dishes have enjoyed them and added that they like the idea that it could help make them look younger.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
