RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be a problem solver with the ability to execute projects quickly and efficiently
  • Self starter with outstanding planning and organizational skills
  • Handles multiple tasks and thrives under pressure
  • Outstanding writing skills A MUST   
  • Supervise, review writing and production of news topicals 
  • Write press releases, talent bios
  • Create and write memorable image campaigns
  • Write promo/sweeps copy for artists/producers
  • Write ads and create marketing plans/campaigns for our social media and digital platforms (i.e. creating contests and promotional action plans to increase mobile app downloads, and “likes” on Local 6 Facebook  page)
  • Work with Creative Services Director to coordinate all "outside media" efforts for the station, including radio, print, billboards, co-op and cable
  • Supervise all producers on writing, best graphics and promotional spot flow
  • Interpret research and turn them into strategic marketing plans
  • Strategically place and manage promotional inventory for logs
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Reports to Creative Services/Marketing Director

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of four years experience as marketing writer/producer
  • Must possess outstanding writing, graphic and visual skills with ability to “sell” a story
  • Must be a solid team player with a great attitude and strong promotional skills
  • Final Cut Pro editing experience and understanding of on-line editing equipment helpful
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with daily deadlines and changing priorities
  • Possess and maintains a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the Company
