Social Media Internship at WKMG
Local 6 social media interns will work with the station's social media producer to create compelling and engaging content for social media channels.
Main responsibilities will include:
-Writing and posting breaking news to social media channels
-Collating trending stories that build engagement for social media channels
-Using social media channels to advance reporting and news gathering
-Gathering news and information from reporters and assignment editors
-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university
-Must be majoring in communication, journalism, broadcast production techniques, business administration, marketing or some other field directly related to broadcasting.
-Must be proficient with social media channels including Facebook and Twitter
-Must be at least a junior when the internship commences
-Must be able to work within time sensitive deadlines
-Must be receiving academic course credits or their equivalent (such as a masters thesis)
-Must be available at least two days a week
