Markesha Wilkerson arrested for violation of probation on gun charge

LAKELAND, Fla. – An 18-year-old woman being sought on a probation violation was nabbed after she appeared in a Facebook Live video from a Chuck E. Cheese's restaurant in Polk County, deputies said.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Markesha Wilkerson posted the video Monday from the restaurant. The video showed her smiling and laughing with a person in a mouse costume, deputies said.

Officers arrested Wilkerson for violation of probation on a gun charge and failure to appear.

She's being held without bond in the Polk County Jail.

It's unclear whether she's retained an attorney.

Lakeland woman arrested after Facebook Live video 18-year-old Markesha Wilkerson of Lakeland was arrested Monday after PCSO detectives were alerted to a Facebook Live video being recorded by her at the Lakeland Chuck E Cheese location. Detectives alerted the Lakeland Police Department, who responded and arrested her for an outstanding juvenile pick-up order. The pick-up order was for violation of probation and failure to appear (original charge: Improper exhibition of a firearm or dangerous weapon and attempted battery). She was booked into the Polk County Jail on no bond. Wilkerson has 14 previous charges, at least six of which are violent (battery, domestic violence battery, and aggravated assault). Of the 14 previous charges, one was a felony (Aggravated Assault), 6 misdemeanor charges, five “other/unknown” charges, such as probation violation, and 2 failures to appear in court. Her current charges: 04/17/2017 –Probation & Failure to Appear. Her previous charges are: 08/25/2016 – Battery, 08/24/1026 – Battery DV; 08/23/2016 – Battery DV; 08/11/2016 – Probation Violation; 07/08/2016 – Battery DV; 06/21/2016 – Failure to Appear; 05/29/2016 – Probation Violation; 12/07/2015 – Aggravated Assault, Battery; 10/22/2013 – Disturbing the Peace – Interfering with School Administration. “If you are a wanted person with outstanding warrants or pick-up orders, it’s probably not a good idea to go on Facebook Live.” –Grady Judd, Sheriff
