Florida man found with motor oil, DVDs in pants, deputies say

William Hall caught on video waddling out of Lakeland store, officials say

LAKELAND, Fla. – That was not a slick move.

Polk County deputies say a man tried to hide more than a dozen bottles of motor oil in his pants and then walk out of a 7-Eleven in Lakeland.

A deputy said he saw William Hall walking out of the store last week on Duff Road and noticed a suspicious load in his pants.

When the deputy escorted Hall back inside, the man unloaded 15 quart-sized bottles of Pennzoil and 30 DVDs.

"It's shocking how we can easily be in the same store as someone and not realize that people are stealing as much stuff as that man was," customer Nicholas Gawronski said.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Hall has a long criminal history, including 68 previous charges, 24 convictions and three stays in state prison.

Hall now faces charges of felony petit theft.
