ORLANDO, Fla. -- Groups of Central Florida shoppers are spending as many as three days and nights camped outside of Best Buy stores in hopes of being the first to purchase the much-anticipated PlayStation 3 game units.Local 6 News showed video of people in sleeping bags lined on a sidewalk waiting for the opportunity to purchase the console Friday at 12:01 a.m."No work tomorrow and no work Friday," Rob Dixon. "This is work. I'm working the next three days right here, outside Best Buy."The crowd said they will remain outside even during expected thunderstorms and tornado warnings in Orange County Thursday."I'm going to be staying here, rain jacket and all," a shopper told Local 6 News.A woman was videotaped keeping a written countdown of the hours until the PlayStation 3 consoles go on sale in the U.S.The PS3 will hit the market at a price of $600."But only 400,000 of them will be available nationwide, which means demand will far exceed supply," Local 6's Jessica Sanchez said. "And, as we saw with Xbox 360, these coveted consoles will sell online for $2,000 to $5,000.""Hopefully, we will get one PlayStation and it will pay for the rest of the Christmas gifts," Dixon said.
"This will take care of my needs for months to come," a gamer said while sitting in line.Best Buy stores do not know how many consoles they will be receiving until late Thursday so there is a chance some of the people waiting days in line will not get a console, Sanchez said.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
