ORLANDO, Fla. -- A registered sex offender has been accused of trying to meet up with a 12-year-old girl using MySpace and text messages.
Orlando police said Jose Angel Pamblanco conversed with the girl using the social networking site and text messages, and another 12-year-old girl using text messages.
The second girl repeatedly told Pamblanco, 25, she was too young for him, but he continued to aggressively pursue her, prompting the girl to contact authorities, police said.
An agent from the cybercrime unit posed as a 12-year-old girl and conversed with Pamblanco through text messages for one week, during which he tried to seduce and solicit the officer, who he believed to be a young girl, to commit illegal acts, police said.
Pamblanco was charged with prohibited use of a computer and attempting to travel to meet a minor.
Pamblanco was convicted of lewd and lascivious molestation upon a child in 2004 and lewd and lascivious battery upon a child in 2009.
