The winners of the Webby awards were announced on June 5, and although some of the sites are ones that we are all familiar with --Amazon, eBay, and Google -- there are also plenty of original and creative sites that Web surfers may have never heard of.
One winner that should be bookmarked or placed on a favorites list is Orisinal.com.It won for best games site and once you try it out, you can easily see why. There are 42 cute little games that are wonderfully illustrated with adorable preschool-esque tunes.In a time when most of the entertaining games are violent, Orisinal is a breathe of fresh air.In one game, you have try to create ripples in the water to move falling acorns so you can feed the ducks. In another game, a tortoise and a hare work together, one on the other's back, to try knock out as many apples and swat as many snakes as the time allows.The most violent game I found is where you have to try and swat spiders crawling down a window before they reach a cake (and even then, the spiders don't really die...they just sort of get dizzy and fade away.)Because of its blood-free graphics and sweet little characters, these games are great for little kids but adults will also get addicted because they can be quite challenging.The negative thing about the site is that it's preferable you have a high-speed connection because it can take a while to load the games, but check it out.To check out all 60 winners of the Webby awards, go to WebbyAwards.com.
