Legoland unveils new beach-themed resort

166-room Beach Retreat scheduled to open in April

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Reservations are already being taken for the new Legoland Beach Retreat that was unveiled today and is set to open in April.

Officials with Legoland Florida Resort said it will be a "village-style vacation resort" with 166 rooms in 83 beach-themed bungalows. The bungalows are grouped into 13 coves that will each have its own outdoor play area with a shaded patio area for parents.

Amenities include Sandy's Castle Restaurant, inside the resort's massive, Lego-inspired lighthouse complete with a rotating beacon; Bricks Beach Bar, which will serve cocktails poolside and inside the lighthouse; and a large retail shop, Palm Tree Traders, stocked with Lego merchandise and beach necessities.

Guests at the resort will also receive complimentary parking in Legoland Florida Resort’s main parking lot and early access to the theme park.

Legoland Beach Retreat is accepting reservations for April 7 through Nov. 30, with a 20 percent off a room-and-ticket package being offered through the end of December for minimum two-night stays from April 7 through Sept. 3.
