Elizabeth Sherman, of Palm Coast, was airlifted to a Jacksonville hospital in serious condition, troopers said.

Troopers said Taylor and Sherman were walking along the Lakeview Boulevard shoulder when they were hit by a Honda Civic.

Both victims were wearing dark clothing, and the driver, a 37-year-old Daytona Beach woman, did not see them because it was very dark in the area, the FHP said.

The driver was not hurt. It's not been determined if she will face charges, the FHP said.

No other details have been released.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Taylor, a vigil for the teen is planned for Monday night. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday at Palm Coast United Methodist Church. The memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same church.

More than 1,000 people have also signed a Change.org petition in support of adding more street lights and sidewalks in Palm Coast.
