Student Dies, Sister Hurt On Beachline

ORLANDO, Fla. -- An 18-year-old high school student was killed and his 21-year-old sister was airlifted to a hospital in a crash involving a sport utility vehicle and a tractor-trailer on the Beachline near the Orlando International Airport.
Vladimy Dortelus, who attended Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, was killed and Imonaise Dortelus, of Orlando, was injured in the crash, which occurred around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on westbound state Road 528 at mile marker 9 near Daetwyler Drive.
Imonaise Dortelus was listed in critical but stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The pair was riding in a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero when Vladimy Dortelus, who was driving, lost control of the SUV, which skidded across three lanes of traffic and was struck by the tractor-trailer, Orlando police said.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was treated at the crash site and released, police said.
