2 killed in rollover crash in Sanford

Double fatal crash reported on US 17-92 at Airport Boulevard

SANFORD, Fla. – Two men in their 60s were killed late Monday in a rollover crash in Sanford, police said.

The crash was reported about 11 p.m. on U.S. Highway 17-92 at Airport Boulevard.

Sanford police said the men were traveling south on U.S. 17-92 in a silver GMC Envoy and attempted to turn left onto Airport Boulevard when a silver Kia Sorrento struck the Envoy, causing it to flip over.

The men in the Envoy were ejected from the SUV and died from their injuries, police said. Their names have not been released.

The driver of the Sorrento suffered minor injuries and was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital, police said.

The intersection was closed for more than six hours as police investigated the wreck.

An investigation is continuing.
