ORLANDO, Fla. -- Power was fully restored Monday morning to more than 3,000 customers after a Corvette crashed into a power pole Sunday night near SeaWorld Orlando.
Two people in a yellow Corvette were injured when the car toppled a power pole at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Orangewood and Deer Creek Drive, just south and east of SeaWorld.
The driver, Larry Brewer, 41, suffered minor injuries and his passenger, Milton Howell, 32, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
"A little after 10 o'clock all I heard was this big old crash, then boom, lights out," said Jay Stantz, who lives in the area. "There (are) live wires down and everything. All of a sudden, there were a bunch of people out here, and everybody's yelling and screaming there's live wires."
The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol said blood was drawn from Brewer.
"Hopefully they'll get it restored soon and we all will be going back to our lives," Stantz said before power was restored at about 7:10 a.m. Monday.
