ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - A 69-year-old DeLand man died in a single-car crash on an Interstate 4 entrance ramp in Seminole County after he suffered a "major medical event," according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

David Louis Harrison died Thursday night in the crash, which occurred around 9 p.m. on the I-4 ramp from State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs, the FHP said.

Troopers said Harrison was driving his 2000 Honda Accord from S.R. 436 onto eastbound I-4 when he suffered a medical condition and his car traveled off the ramp, down a sloped shoulder and crashed into a fence.

Harrison was taken to Florida Hospital Altamonte and was pronounced dead.
