NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – A 38-year-old Edgewater man was killed Sunday night in a motorcycle crash in New Smyrna Beach, police said.
Benjamin Bilger died in the wreck, which was reported about 9:30 p.m. on Washington Street near Riverside Drive, according to authorities.

Police said Bilger was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Washington Street when he lost control of the bike and struck a power pole on the south side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
Bilger was not wearing a helmet, police said.
