Man, son killed in Orange County crash identified

7-year-old in critical condition after State Road 520 wreck

CHRISTMAS, Fla. – A man and his 10-year-old son were killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in east Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.   The man's 9-year-old son was critically injured.

Stacey Watters, 38, and Quentin Watters, 10, of Alabama, were killed in a crash with an ice cream truck driven by Jaison McCray, 39, of Sefner, Fla., around 8:15 a.m. on State Road 520 at Taylor Creek Road near Christmas, according to FHP. 

Jai Watters, who was riding with his father and brother in a Chevolet Impala, was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in critical condition, troopers said.

McCray was not injured in the crash.

According to the FHP, the Impala was stopped at a stop sign on Taylor Creek Road when Stacey Watters pulled the vehicle into the path of the truck, which was traveling on S.R. 520.

The crash remains under investigation.
