Bird Blamed For Damage
Flight 478 carrying 200 people was heading from Detroit to Tampa when something damaged the nose cone of the plane Sunday.Tampa International Airport spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagan said the aircraft collided with a bird. The airline says the incident was a "minor maintenance issue" and is investigating.Pilots said they heard a noise but decided not to make an emergency landing, believing no one was in danger."I don't if they noticed anything was wrong until they got onto the gate and we're walking past the windows and saw the plane the commotion that was happening at the windows," a passenger said.The airline said no passengers or crew members were injured.The incident remains under investigation.Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
