The Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wis., has been named the nation's finest restroom.
The restroom was chosen by Internet voters in a contest presented by Cintas Corp., a restroom hygiene services company.
The restroom was cited for its theme depicting architectural styles through the ages.
"The Kohler Arts Center is thrilled to be recognized by the Cintas America's Best Restroom Contest," says Ruth Kohler, the center's director.
"Where else can you use a restroom and simultaneously pretend you are a Pharaoh amongst the Pyramids, Caesar surrounded by Rome's classical architecture, the Pontiff or a CEO?" Kohler says.
The contest attracted more than 200 entrants, ranging from businesses, movie theatres, high schools and golf courses, to museums, restaurants, gymnasiums, and nightclubs.
Finalists were chosen based on originality, unique style or theme, exceptional hygiene maintenance and free access by the public.
The second place winner was Art Chicks Restaurant in Louisville, Neb., chosen for its 1950's theme.
Third place went to Wall USA of Boston, a toilet manufacturer, for its high-tech port-a-potty.
Rounding out the top five were Olivia's Circle fitness center in Albany, N.Y., and a Waffle House restaurant in Lawrence, Mich.
