The National Hurricane Center's path of projected movement shows Tropical Storm Fay continuing on a path into the Atlantic and then making landfall again in Central Florida without intensifying.

Fay should make landfall Thursday morning delivering high winds to several counties, Local 6 meteorologist Tom Sorrells said.

Marion County can expect 30 to 40 mph winds with some thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Flagler County could also see winds up to 38 mph with higher gusts on the latest path of projected movement. The highest wind speeds will come between 6 a.m. and noon.

Fay remained nearly stationary on its track through the state of Florida late Wednesday.

"The bottom line here is that Fay has hardly moved at all," Sorrells said. "The good news for Brevard County is that the big rainmaker that was putting out 25 inches or rain in Windover Farms has moved farther to the north."

The National Hurricane Center's path of projected movement showed the storm no longer threatening to intensify into a hurricane Thursday as initially predicted.

The storm will begin to head west through the state of Florida.

"We are hoping for late Friday and maybe this thing would be completely out of Central Florida," Sorrells said. "(Fay) has strengthened tonight but not in the last several hours."
