Lori Hark was talking with Local 6 inside her flooded home near Lake Monroe when she walked down a hall and was surprised by a snake.

Local 6 video showed the woman jumping and running through her home with the crew after spotting the snake moving through her home.

"A snake about (4 feet long) just skidded right in front of me and I screamed," Hark said. "It went straight up about two feet. So, yeah, pretty much everything in there is going to stay."

Hark said she was sleeping when the water began to flow into her house. The snake apparently came in with the water.

"I got up out of bed to get a bottle of water and I stepped in water," Hark said. "And we started running about the house, flipping the lights on and it was coming in from every direction at once. When it came, it came fast."

Hark and other residents had dry floors on Monday. However, the flood waters continue to rise in her area.

"Our furniture is destroyed," Hark said. "We have leather furniture so it just soaked the water all night long. The television and radio (were put up) but you can't stop the water from coming up."

Homeowners said the water level was up 2 inches Tuesday.
