UPDATED: 3:38 pm EST December 1, 2008

An EF0 tornado damaged 14 homes in Brevard County, and strong storms knocked out power to more than 3,200 area customers in Central Florida Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service confirmed on Monday that a tornado with winds of 65 to 75 mph touched down at about 3:40 p.m. in southwest Palm Bay, damaging the homes.

Florida Power & Light crews restored power to more than 1,600 customers in Port Orange and Brevard County. About 1,600 Orlando Utilities Commission customers had lost power earlier Sunday, but spokeswoman Erika Hodges said it was restored by the evening.

Weather officials said radar suggested brief tornadic activity throughout Central Florida.

A tornado touched down in Osceola County, causing minor damage to a car, according to the National Weather Service.

No one was injured in the storms.
