Tornado Touches Down In Brevard County
Minor Damage Reported

COCOA, Fla. -- The National Weather Service in Melbourne confirmed that a tornado touched down Wednesday in Central Brevard County, according to Local 6 News.
Weather service Doppler radar did not show signs of the twister at 2:56 p.m. "It dissipated," Meteorologist Dennis Decker said.
The tornado begun as a waterspout over the Indian River, said Local 6 News chief meteorologist Tom Sorrells.
Witnesses said that the tornado touched down near the Cocoa water tower near the intersection of State Road 520 and U.S. 1. The tornado may have begun as a waterspout over the Indian River.
A second possible tornado was sighted at 2:10 p.m. near Interstate 95 and Fiske Boulevard. The tornado moved quickly toward Eyster and U.S. 1 in Rockledge, Joan Heller, spokesman for Brevard County Emergency Management told Local 6 News partner
Florida Today. 
"We have no reports of damage," Heller said. "No injuries. There's nothing to respond to at this point. We're just waiting to hear if any problems develop as a result of this."
