Late-Season System Brews East Of Bermuda

POSTED: Tuesday, November 30, 2004

A low pressure system east of Bermuda is continuing to show signs of development, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Monday.

"The area of low pressure located about 800 miles east of Bermuda continues to acquire tropical characteristics and thunderstorm activity has become more concentrated near the center," forecasters said in a statement.

If the trend continues, subtropical or tropical storm advisories may be issued Monday, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.

The storm would be called Otto, the 15th named storm of the current season, which annually runs June 1 to Nov. 30.
