POSTED: Friday, December 30, 2005
Another tropical storm has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, adding to a record-breaking hurricane season that officially ended last month.
An advisory posted on the National Hurricane Center's Web site says Tropical Storm Zeta is about 1,000 miles south-southwest of the Azores Islands.
It isn't known yet if this is the latest a tropical storm has formed in the Atlantic.
It is the 27th storm this year, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
The center says that maximum sustained winds are 50 mph, but that the storm is expected to start weakening Saturday.
