Big weather changes headed to Orlando area
Rain, temperatures in 40s expected in Central Florida
Big changes are on the way to Central Florida, with overnight lows soon expected to reach the 40s.
The high on Wednesday will reach 82 degrees, but a cold front is expected to reach the Orlando area on Thursday.
"We're tracking a front that's been stalled to the north for several days," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "The high pressure that has blocked the front will break down, and the front will move into Central Florida Thursday."
Bridges said ahead of the cold front, there's a 30 percent chance of rain on Thursday, with a high temperature of 79 degrees expected.
"Behind the front, temperatures will be a bit cooler," he said.
Lows Friday morning will be in the 40s.
By Friday afternoon, the Orlando area will be about 10 degrees cooler than the last several days, with temps warming to 72.
"It will be dry and in the mid-70s for the weekend and for Dr. Martin Luther King Day," Bridges said.
