Central Florida stays warm, dry

Orlando to see high 10 degrees above average

ORLANDO, Fla. – It will remain dry and warm Thursday in Central Florida.

"Dry air will keep rain chances out of the forecast for the most part," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

Expect a 10 percent chance for a shower or two late in the day as the east and west coast sea breezes come together.

Temperatures will reach 89 in Orlando. The average high on this date is 80.

"We made it up to 91 on Wednesday, which was the first time we reached the 90s in 2017," said Bridges, who added that the record on that date is 95.

Orlando reaches an average high of 90 degrees on May 25.

Rain chances increase to 40 percent on Friday as an upper-level low moves in from the Gulf of Mexico. A few storms will linger into the early evening hours after developing in the early afternoon.

Rain chances will be out of the forecast for the weekend.

Expect highs in the mid- and upper 80s from Friday through Sunday.

"As we start the workweek next week, we will be in an unsettled pattern with more moisture and energy to work with," he said. "Rain chances will be 30 percent Monday through Wednesday, with highs in the upper 80s Monday."
