Central Florida temperatures reach the 90s

Heat index to climb this weekend

The temps all over Central Florida are in the 90s, the only places not in the 90s are on the coast.

Melbourne is at 87 at 3 p.m., Daytona Beach is at 88, and the Cape reads 87. Inland it's hotter. Orlando International Airport is at 91, Leesburg is up to 92.

The heat index is not too crazy just yet because the humidity is still low. As the weekend rolls in the humidity will  increase so will the heat index.

The record high for April 27 in Orlando is 97, in Daytona Beach it's 93 and in Melbourne the record is 93.  All of those records seem to be out of reach, but our temps are well above normal. A normal high for April 27 in Orlando is 85.

Thursday night, it will be clear with a low of 72.

Friday, the sun will bake all day and the high will hit 95.

There is no widespread rain in the forecast until at least next Tuesday.
