Chilly conditions continue Sunday in Central Florida; highs in 50s

Highs 15 degrees below average for Central Florida in December

ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Floridians are waking up to some cold conditions Sunday morning.

"Wind chill advisories remain in place for most of Central Florida through early this morning," News 6 meteorologist Samara Cokinos said. "The same goes for a freeze warning for Marion County."

Skies will be blue and filled with sunshine Sunday.

Highs will stay in the mid- to upper 50s, about 15 degrees below the average of 74 degrees for this time of year in Central Florida.

North-to-northwest winds will remain elevated Sunday, producing hazardous boating and surf conditions for the majority of the day.

Winds will slow down Sunday night, allowing patchy frost to settle early Monday as lows dip to the mid- to low 30s again overnight.

"Remember to bring in the pets and cover your plants," Cokinos said.
