Friday daytime forecast: breezy weather, highs in 80s

Warm, dry weekend weather expected

The local weather pattern remains dominated by an expansive area of high pressure pushing off the middle Atlantic coast.

Expect a breezy afternoon with winds moving in from the east between 10 to 15 miles per hour. Large and rough surf will remain a concern because of this along with the Atlantic beaches with breaking waves between 5-7 feet. A high surf advisory will remain in effect through this evening, along with a high risk of rip currents.

Along the strong breeze, an isolated shower could produce a brief light sprinkle along the coastal counties.

Expect an increase in sunshine compared to Thursday, with highs warming to near 80 degrees.

We will remain mostly dry and warm through the weekend, with highs topping off in the upper 70s to low 80s.
