Good chance of rain Sunday in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. – Another warm Saturday is in the record book, topping out at 86 degrees on this winter day, but things are going to change in the next 24-48 hours.

Remember that this is the weekend to change your clocks forward. Change your clocks and change the batteries in your smoke detectors too.

After midnight, winds will begin to shift direction and moisture will begin to increase, and more clouds will dominate the Sunday skies.

Additionally, the chances of rain will be around 20 percent in the morning, but will reach 50 percent in the afternoon. The chance of rain near the beaches may reach 60 percent.

Clouds will keep temperatures down to 79 degrees in Orlando, 75 degrees in Daytona Beach and 80 degrees in Melbourne.

Rain chances remain high Sunday night at 40 percent and temperatures will drop to the low 60s.

Monday and Monday night will bring another round of rain as a new cold front tries to move into the area.

Much colder air will arrive by Tuesday. By Wednesday, daytime temperatures will only reach the 68-degree mark. Nights drop into the 30s and 40s, near freezing in Ocala.

It will be an umbrella day for Sunday.
