Heat, more rain in Central Florida forecast

Orlando to see high near 91 degrees

ORLANDO, Fla. – The rainy -- and hot -- season rolls on Wednesday in Central Florida.

"We are pinpointing the east coast sea breeze this afternoon," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "We will see storms move from east to west rather than what we saw Tuesday."

Bridges said the storms bring the threat of lightning, strong winds and heavy rain after 2 p.m., lingering through drive time.

"Most of the storms will come to an end after 8 o'clock," he said. "That's a little bit of a different set up than we've seen over the past couple of days."

Orlando received 0.21 inches of rain Tuesday, putting the yearly deficit at 9.63 inches.

Rain chances will be 60 percent through the 4th of July.

Afternoon high temperatures will be near the average for this time of year, 91 degrees.

"There is nothing of concern in the tropics as of now, even though we were watching an area of low pressure developing off the west coast of Africa," Bridges said. "It is not as impressive on Wednesday, so the hurricane center is not watching it."
