Heavy rain at Space Coast to move quickly: All systems go for SpaceX launch

Slight chance of showers for rest of morning

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – "We had perfect weather for the launch yesterday, but now we are looking a little 'iffy' today," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said.

There was widespread fog all Sunday morning, with Cape Canaveral at 2 miles of visibility.

"The Space Coast is getting heavy rain this morning, but the good news is that it is moving very quickly," Evans said. "There is only a slight chance of showers for the rest of the morning and heavier cloud cover than yesterday."

Inland counties will all reach the 80s Sunday, and the coast will reach the mid to high 70s. Orlando's high will be 82 degrees with lots of sunshine once the fog and cloud cover moves out.

Sunday night will reach a low of 58 degrees under a mostly clear sky. Late fog will develop once again.

On Monday, Central Florida will reach a high of 81 degrees with mostly sunny skies for Presidents Day.
