As of mid-morning, Orlando had 1.42 inches of rain, breaking the record of 1.13 inches set on this date in 1903.

Daytona Beach  received 2.13 inches of rain, besting the record of 1.72 inches that was set in 1937.

And Melbourne also set a record, with .68 inches of rain falling in the first nine hours of the day, breaking the daily record of .59 inches, set in 1993.

"We will be pinpointing high rain chances Wednesday across the region," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said early Wednesday morning. "Rain chances will be 100 percent through the day."

Bridges said an area of low pressure is moving in from the Gulf of Mexico, leading to heavy rain and a few embedded thunderstorms.

"The main risk will be heavy rain that could lead to some flooding in the afternoon," Bridges said. "A couple of thunderstorms will develop, with lightning and some strong wind gusts.".

Afternoon high temperatures will reach the low 70s across Central Florida.

The high on Thursday in Orlando will be 70 degrees as rain chances stick around on and off at 40 percent.

"Rain chances are out of the picture altogether just in time for Friday and the weekend," Bridges said. "Afternoon high temperatures will be cooler behind the front that brings the rain."

Temperatures on Friday will reach the mid-60s.

Upper 60s can be expected on Saturday.

By Sunday, high temperatures will be in the low 70s.
