Highs to hit mid-80s in Central Florida but cooldown coming

Hurricane Hunters to investigate tropical wave near Bahamas

ORLANDO, Fla. – After two more days of highs reaching the mid-80s, temperatures will cool in Central Florida.

"Once again, high pressure will dominate just to our north on Thursday afternoon," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said. "An area of low pressure off the coast will send onshore a couple of areas of light rain, mainly as the wind moves out of the north-northeast."

The coverage of rain will be 10 percent.

"Expect a few quick-moving showers to move inland, but it will not be widespread," Bridges said.

The average high in Orlando is 84 degrees for this time of year. Expect a high of 86 on Thursday and Friday.

"High temperatures will be much cooler after the front passes on Friday," Bridges said. "That cooler air comes in Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the upper 70s both dates."

Morning lows will dip into the 50s, especially by Monday.

Tracking the tropics

"The low that we've been watching for days east of the Bahamas now has a lower chance of development within the next five days," Bridges said.

The chances are down to 50 percent from 80 percent on Wednesday.

The hurricane hunters will investigate the system Thursday and will find out more about its development.
