Hot, stormy day on tap in Central Florida

More strong storms forecast to hit Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – The weather pattern in Central Florida will end the workweek the same way it began: hot and stormy.

"More sea breeze storms will develop and move inland through the afternoon on Friday," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "Some storms will be strong again, with winds up to 60 miles an hour, heavy rain and lightning."

Flooding will be a concern in some isolated areas.

Bridges said the risk of severe storms will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the coverage of rain will be 50 percent of the area.

High temperatures will warm to 93 degrees in Orlando.  The average high temperature is 92.

Rain chances will be at 40 percent on Saturday, with a high of 93 degrees.

"Rain chances will be a little lower on Sunday at 30 percent, with a high temperature of 94," Bridges said.

There will be a moderate rip current risk off Central Florida beaches over the weekend.
