ORLANDO, Fla. – Showers formed in Central Florida after 6 p.m. Saturday and continued past midnight. Central Florida could see the same pattern Sunday evening and the chance for rain Monday is 70 percent.
"Very humid tropical air hangs over the area, and combine that with temperatures over 90 degrees, and we have a recipe for rain, rain and more rain," News 6 weather anchor Danny Treanor said.
Daytime temperatures feel like 100 degrees and the cooling down will be slow Sunday evening, making it feel very muggy.
"Sunday night lows, under rainy and cloudy skies, will eventually drop to 76 in Orlando 74 in Ocala and 75 in Palm Bay," Treanor said.
Mixed skies Monday will quickly give way to cloudy skies in the afternoon, bringing highs ranging from 89 degrees in Melbourne and Daytona Beach to 91 degrees in Orlando.
The rest of the week will be mostly wet with a 50 percent or higher chance of rain each day. Temperatures will be near or above 90 degrees.
No action is expected in the tropics for the next five days.
