"Today we only get to a high of 91 with a 40 percent chance of rain," said News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans. "Most of the really heavy rain will be just south of I-4 by 9 a.m."

The rest of Central Florida will be under partly cloudy skies for most of the day, which also keeps our temperatures on the lower side. By noon, rain pushes to central portions of Florida and moves toward the west by 6 p.m. Winds are also picking up from the east at 5-15 mph.

"We get to a low of 76 for tonight and some of that rain will linger," Evans said.

For Sunday, rain chances are even higher at 50 percent.

"It will be another early start to the rain and will continue off and on throughout your Sunday," Evans said.

Tracking the Tropics

News 6 is pinpointing the tropics. Tropical Storm Gaston is the strongest of all the systems with 65 mph winds.

"It is supposed to strengthen into a hurricane by tonight into tomorrow and could reach up to category 2," Evans said. "This will not be impacting land in any way."

There is also another wave just south of Bermuda with only a 30 percent chance of tropical development within the next five days.

"Invest 99-L is what we really have to pay attention to for us in Florida," Evans said. "It has a 40 percent chance of development and if it does, it will be Tropical Storm Hermine, however it has already weakened Saturday morning so we will see if it survives the obstacles."
