More heat, rain for Central Florida

Rain chances increases for weekend in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The heat index will be near 100 degrees in Central Florida on Wednesday, and rain chances are on the rise as the weekend nears.

"Temperatures will be near 90 on Wednesday, but it will feel like 100 at times with plenty of humid air in place," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

Rain chances will be at 30 percent in the Orlando area but increase to 50 percent from Thursday through Saturday.

High temperatures will stay near the average of 92 degrees for the next several days.

Overnight lows will be in the mid-70s.

Rain chances will be at 40 percent on Sunday.
