"As high pressure builds in and dominates the forecast it leads to syncing air and lower rain chances," said News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges.

Expect only a 20 percent chance for rain on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Rain chances will be slightly higher at 30 percent for Sunday into next week.

"The big story will be the heat for the next several days," Bridges said.

The average high in Orlando is 92 degrees.

Expect a high of 97 on Thursday with feels-like temperatures at more than 105.

Temperatures will remain in the mid and upper 90s through the weekend.

"Not quite records but close, as the record high for Orlando on Thursday is 101 degrees set back in 1936," Bridges said.

News 6 is also watching the tropics.

There is a wave off the coast of Africa that will have a 40 percent chance of development within the next five days.

"Many computer models have it dying out within the next five days, while some do take it closer to the Lesser Antilles sometime by the end of the next five days," Bridges said. "Stay tuned."

If this system were to get a name it would be Earl. It has been 38 days since we've had a named storm -  that was Danielle.
