"We're still keeping a close eye on Invest 99," News 6 meteorologist Madeline Evans said. "It has a 60 percent chance of becoming Tropical Storm Hermine over the next several days."

The system is battling some upper-level winds, so development is not likely Sunday, Evans said.

"Once it reaches the Gulf of Mexico, where there's warmer water, we could see some intensification," Evans said. "Models are not in much agreement about its destination. Half of them have it staying in the Gulf, and the other half have it curing back into Florida."

Elsewhere in the tropics

Hurricane Gaston has 90 mph winds, and it will possibly strengthen to a Category 2 storms, but it will not make landfall.

Invest 91, near Bermuda, has a 40 percent chance of tropical development in the next five days.

"Of course we will keep you updated throughout the week on the tropics," Evans said. "I hope everyone has a great Sunday."

Central Florida forecast

It will be another scorcher in Central Florida on Sunday.

"We will reach a high of 92 in Orlando, with high humidity," Evans said. "We do have a 40 percent chance of fast-moving, pop-up showers Sunday."

Winds will also be out of the east at 5-15 mph.

"Rain will linger into until about 9 p.m.," Evans said. "We reach an overnight low of 76 under a mostly cloudy sky."
