Rain drenches Central Fla., showers to continue throughout day

Roads slick from overnight rain

Roads were slick Wednesday morning as rain drenched Central Florida overnight on Wednesday, with more showers expected to continue in the afternoon.

"It's going to be on and off through the day today," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges. "Today will be a gloomy day, all day long, because the front we have been tracking has moved in on top of us and is stalled out for the day."

Bridges said scattered showers are expected throughout the day with heavy cloud coverage in the afternoon.

The forecast shows temperatures hitting a high of 78 by 3 p.m. with an 80 percent chance of rain in the afternoon and into the evening.
