"We are pinpointing that big area of low pressure that continues to spin now off of our east coast," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

Rain will continue off and on in waves through the first half of the day, Bridges said.

"Into the afternoon hours, we'll begin to dry out," Bridges said. "We had more than 2.5 inches of rain in the Melbourne area of Brevard County, which was well over the record for daily rainfall there."

The previous record, set in 1964, was .75 inches of rain.

"Drier air will begin to work in and temperatures will eventually warm to 77 degrees in Orlando," he said. "

The average high in Orlando on this date is 75.

"Expect dry conditions Friday through Sunday, with highs in the low 80s on Friday and Saturday," he said. "It will be a bit cooler Sunday, with a high of 73. We will stay dry through the middle of next week, with highs reaching the mid-80s by Wednesday."
