Severe weather hits Central Florida

40 percent chance of rain over weekend in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – The weekend started off on Friday with severe weather as storms moved through Central Florida.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued in Orange, Lake and Osceola counties.

Hail was spotted in Orange County as storms moved through. Orange County Fire Rescue was also investigating an attic fire that the caller believed was sparked by lightning.

Storms may linger after sunset, and there will be a slight breeze from the southeast, with an overnight low of 76 degrees.

The highs over the weekend will be in the mid-90s, with a 40 percent chance of rain.
