Storm chances increase in Central Florida

Rip current risk remains at beaches into end of week

ORLANDO, Fla. - Afternoon storms have struck parts of Central Florida over the past couple of days, and the chance for more rain is on the rise.

"More sea breeze storms will develop into the afternoon on Wednesday at 40 percent," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

The high in Orlando will reach 92 degrees.  The average high temperature for Orlando is 90.

The overnight low will be in the low 70s.

High temperatures will be in the low 90s through the weekend.

Rain chances increase to 60 percent for Thursday and 40 percent for Friday.

"Some storms will be strong late in the afternoon with gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning," Bridges said.

Rain chances will be at 30 percent over the weekend.
