Temperatures soar to near 90 this week in Central Florida

Rain chances very low in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – Spring began a week ago Monday, but it will feel more like summer this week in Central Florida.

"It's all about the heat today and the rest of this week," News 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.

High temperatures will warm into the mid-80s over the next several days as high pressure dominates the forecast and rain stays away.

Expect a high of 84 on Monday in Orlando. The average high on this date is 80.

"We will warm to 85 on Tuesday and 87 on Wednesday," Bridges said. "Expect temperatures near 90 on Thursday and for Friday, with minimal rain chances returning at 20 percent."

Some areas will start the week with fog.

"With low-level moisture in place, we will see a chance for fog early on Monday," Bridges said. "Most of the fog will burn off after 9 a.m."

The risk of rip currents remains high across Central Florida as an east breeze continues off the ocean waters.

Expect seas up to 5 to 6 feet in some areas.
