Tom Sorrells forecasts rain, winds, chance of isolated tornado later this week

Chief meteorologist breaks down week ahead

ORLANDO, Fla. – After an active Monday afternoon, News 6 chief meteorologist Tom Sorrells is still tracking showers into the late-night hours.

Sorrells expected the showers to stop sometime after midnight.

Tuesday will be warm with a high of 90 and a lower rain chance at 30 percent.

On Wednesday, a cold front moves into the area and will produce a 50 percent chance of rain during the day. The afternoon high will hit 87.

Overnight, the rain chances jump to  70 percent. These chances will bring in stronger storms overnight into Thursday morning.

Some of the storms overnight Wednesday could become severe.​ There will be heavy rain, strong winds and a chance of an isolated tornado.

By Friday, the rain will end and the temperature will hit 87.

Saturday and Sunday both look to be warm days with a high of about 90 and a low chance of rain.
