Warm weather to shine on Central Florida

Cooldown coming to Orlando later in week

ORLANDO, Fla. – A warm start to the workweek is on tap in Central Florida.

Monday's high temperature will be 81 degrees.  The average high temperature in Orlando is 77.

"High pressure continues to lead to a warm and dry day on Monday," Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges said.  "An area of cloudy skies will move in from the Gulf of Mexico, but the sun will filter through the clouds enough to heat things up quickly."

It will be even warmer on Tuesday, with a high of 84 degrees.

It will be 82 on Wednesday.

"Rain chances return at 40 percent on Wednesday, and a new system moves in," said Bridges, adding that it will bring cooler air to the region.

The overnight low dips into the upper 40s early Thursday morning.

"We're only warming to 70 by Thursday afternoon," Bridges said.

Weekend highs will be near 80 degrees.

For beachgoers, the rip current risk will be high for the next few days off Central Florida's coast.
