ORLANDO, Fla. – The Pride beat the Houston Dash 1-0 on Sunday evening at Exploria Stadium in their final regular season game, but the win wasn’t enough to get Orlando into the playoffs.

Due to other Decision Day results, Orlando was eliminated from postseason contention, with Angel City FC owning the goal-differential tiebreakers

Marta scored the game’s only goal on a penalty in the 86th minute. The Pride captain was honored on Sunday by the club for her 100 club appearances, the first player in Pride history to reach that milestone, according to the team’s social media account.

Orlando also tallied double-digit wins for the second time in its history, finishing with 10 wins on the year.

“We won the game, but we lose, so it is difficult,” Pride coach Seb Hines said. “The goal comes from a terrific ball from Julie [Doyle] and a great run from Marta and gets in behind the backline and gets brought down and you think you are one-nil up and looking towards next week, but it wasn’t meant to be. It is a tough one.”

Orlando ends their season in 7th place with a 10-11-1 record.
